I was chatting with a friend on Facebook the other day and she said that she reads my Facebook Page regularly. She notices when I haven't posted in a while, and lets me know. So I was scrolling through my "Likes", people that follow you on your Facebook Pages, and she wasn't there.
I mentioned this to her and she said something to the effect, "I don't need to "like" you to follow what you are posting. True, but it sure would be easier, I thought to myself.
Maybe I just find it easier on these social sites to "like" a page, or "subscribe" to a blogger, or "connect" to a professional. It seems that to check in manually with people on a bunch of sites is too cumbersome to do regularly.
After thinking about it, why didn't I just ask her to "like" my page. Maybe she doesn't know how, maybe she doesn't understand what it means. Maybe I should do a better job of getting people to the page to "like" me.
