Disc Golf basketLebanon Grand Opening for Disc Golf Course at Harmon Park July 9!

Kudos to a local Eagle Scout for building this nine hole disc golf course!  Located in Harmon Park by the Armory and Rogers Field, this disc golf park is scheduled for it's grand opening Saturday at 11 a.m.  If you're new to the sport, there will be local disc golfers on hand to offer instruction on how to play!

All nine holes are par 3s, mostly through the woods around Turtle Creek.  And the nice thing about disc golf?  No large expenses to play.  No $400 golf clubs to get wrapped around a tree or thrown into the lake when you blow that "easy" shot!  No golf attire that your kids will laugh at.  No pros to pay for lessons.  This is an easy sport to take up!  So buy yourself a few specialty discs, or use that Frisbee you've got out in the garage somewhere if that better suits you :)

To get to the field, take Taylor Street south off of Main Street (SR123), just across from Wendy's & the car wash.

Jackie, Did a little research because I've seen a course or two in the area, there are actually more out there than I suspected :)

Tish, I haven't played Frisbee Golf in AGES....and honestly not sure that throwing shoulder would appreciate it either :)

Scott, Golf (regular golf anyway) has never had much appeal for me.  Cost/time/frustration mix just wouldn't work for me :)  Bill

Wow.  I have never heard of that sport.  Don't let it get too popular or I promise, someone will come up with a goofy outfit :)!  Looks like that Harmon Park is going to be a great place to go for a new type of "game, sport"!

Brenda, Maybe it's just too hot to play in Texas!  It's been around in this corner of the U.S. for quite awhile.  I think I remember playing in Maryland about 25 years ago with my brother-in-law :)  Bill

Disc Golf, now that's something that I've wanted to try. Not a high pressure, expensive, all day long sport. I know a few guys who bring the discs to work, and fling a few rounds on the way home.
