Hi to all who may be reading.  I am about to embark on a personal journey/experiment to see how many days it will take me to dominate the first page of a Google search. I invite you to join me on this journey of Search Engine Optimization.

For the past two months,  I have been working with my friend and colleague, Pete Sabine, on marketing his real estate consulting business in the San Francisco Bay Area.  We've moved his business away from traditional marketing models to a more web 2.0 type marketing model.  What I mean by this is,  I have worked with Pete to build several blogs, join some social networking groups, forums etc... As a result, a google search on Pete Sabine has him dominating the front page.

I, on the other hand, come from complete obscurity.  I work in the background as the designer and implementor of these web 2.0 tools on behalf of Pete.  Today,  I  set out on a journey to self promote with the goal to see how long it takes me to dominate Google.  Isn't that a goal of many businesses?

Once I reach that goal,  I will be able to share with you that exact steps I have taken to reach that goal so that you can begin that journey with assured results.

As often as possible,  I will post on this blog (and others) to keep you informed of my Google rank.

As of 10.10.07,  my name, Kelly St. Germain, first appeared on a Google organic search on Page 5 (under a website I worked on with Pete Sabine) and I never re-appeared.

Remember:
Knowing what you need to do makes you good.

Doing what you need to do makes you great.

1 Comments on Search Engine Optimization: When will my business dominate Google's organic search?

I come up number one for my name but what is more important is to come up under phrases that buyers and sellers in my area use.  I'm working on that which I think is more important than my name only.
