About a thousand years ago, when I was in my late teens, and before seat belt use was mandatory, I was the first person on the scene of a deadly accident.
I won't go into the details, but suffice it to say that I saved two people's lives that night... Two other people didn't make it.
They probably would have if they were wearing seat belts.
It was from that moment on that I have worn my seat belt each and every time I get into my car.
And I won't even put my car in gear until all my passengers are safely buckled up.
So this weekend when you go out to celebrate our nation's birthday, please remember to put on your seat belts.If you've not seen this video, I suggest you view it now. It's brilliantly done and truly captures the essence of the importance of seat belt use.
