It seems that every time you turn around there is another negative story about housing prices going down.  Although I am not sure that dropping housing prices is a negative story for families that are now finding an affordable home for the first time.

In fact the latest news reports show an increase in housing prices in March - April. 

Here is an article from the Wall Street Journal that talks about one market where things are booming.  The boom is for certain economic reasons that may not apply to your market - the point is that each market is different and there may be different factors at work in your market that buck national trends.

Here in East Contra Costa County we got hit by the price decline hard and early - however, right now we are in a sellers market with a short supply of homes.  Right now we have lots of investors buying here and many first time buyers very pleased with the amount of home they can get for their money.

In this day and age when people are careful with their money Brentwood and East Contra Costa County are great buys with people flocking to this area.
