Fire Threat to Los Alamos National Lab...Of National Concern

There is always cause for concern when anything happens at Los Alamos National Lab (LANL), and justifiably so.  After all, the things that they do at LANL are of vital importance to our country, and for that matter for our existence. The Las Conchas which started on Sunday afternoon on  private property in Jemez Mountain near the Santa Fe National Forest, has grown in to what is now being described as the biggest fire in New Mexico history.   Here is how it was covered by one of the major News Network, MSNBC:

That was then , this is now.  Since last night, the fire has grown considerably, but the threat to  Los Alamos has decreased.  The Santa Clara Pueblo on the other hand, suffered  the brunt of the fire. the latest information is that the fire has grown to over 103,000 acres, with only 3% containment.

Albuquerque and Rio Rancho, New Mexico are among the most stable real estate markets in the United States. This has caught the attention of the national media. As such, it is incumbent on local Realtors to provide information about our cities for those interested in investing, relocating, or visiting. My goal with this blog is to highlight issues or topics in real estate, and where appropriate apply them to the local markets.
