Penny, theer is something I will never understand. So, at the peak of the market the price for a condo was $500K and there was no problem to get financing even 100%.
Now this condo is $200K, less than what it would cost to build it. Bot now we are careful with financing. Does it make any sense?
No problem at high $500K, but very cautious ar $200K
Jon, I agree with you, sometimes the banks and the underwriters don't make any sense. What it did do was give people a taste of homeownership, which was a good thing, for us :)
Yes,Cheryl, owning a home is sooo important. It causes a family to grow roots and gives kids the stability they need, involvement in school and community. Most of these people want that back.
Penny- home ownership has long been ingrained in us since we were kids! There's plenty of blame to go around but we need to focus on the future.
