Richard: What an investment in the people of Georgia! The park looks beautiful. Hope you get to enjoy it!
Richard,
Now that is very encouraging...a State that is actually opening a new facility for it's citizens, during these tough economic times.

As a "Friend" of the park, I will have year-round access and I plan to spend a lot of time there. It's the biggest thing to hit Coweta County in years.

It's a great story. The land was acquired years ago and with all of the budget cuts, the opening of the Park was delayed several times. Then the state agreed that if some of the work such as trail building was done by volunteers, the park could be completed. The "Friends of Chattahoochee Bend" got the job done and now we have a brand new park!
Great localism post for the park in Coweta County...considering the lack of funding in all areas it is so nice that locals have a place to enjoy that is so reasonable!
Chattahoochee is such a fun word to say. That is an unbelievable picnic pavillion there! Go for you for being a friend to the park.

There is a day use fee for all Georgia State Parks, and by becoming a "Friend" you get access to every park and every historic site. It's a true bargain, and we have some great parks in the state!

Richard, we so enjoy the state parks. We have been both tent campers and RVers. This park looks to be a great way to spend a day or a weekend.
Absolutely beautiful. Gorgeous park and it looks so inviting. Thanks for sharing the info and photographs!
Hi Richard what a beautiful place. With our budget here in Wisconsin I doubt we will ever open a new state park
