Remember about a month ago when a cobra escaped from the Bronx Zoo? Someone created a Twitter account (BronxZoosCobra) and quickly gathered over 200,000 followers to read about the cobra's NYC adventures.
Earlier this week a group of turtles made their way from a beach on Jamaica Bay to the nearby Runway 4 at JFK International Airport spawning a new Twitter account, @JFKTurtles. Here are some excerpts:
Besides being entertaining, @JFKTurtles garnered attention from major media outlets -- and Attention is the first part of the AIDA marketing model (Attention, Interest, Desire, Action). Sure, the turtles account may not monetize directly, but it may open other much more lucrative doors.
