Photoblog - Sand and water make good pictures... But not good for a camera... LOL!

So I have been on vacation this week in Lake Tahoe with my Son Ryan.

Swimming every day, throwing rocks in the water, roller skating, making smores in the fireplace, making snowmen (yes, there was still snow), swinging on the swings, Old Town Virginia City, Circus Circus in Reno, seeing the trains in Truckee, riding bikes and hiking the woods...

sand and water

So ummmm...  Yesterday at the beach, of course having a great time digging holes, building castles so the big blue shorted monster could stomp them down got kinda carried away.

So in digging his HUGE hole, I was having him pose for a great picture and he accidentally flung water and sand at me and giggled...  He didn't realize that sand and water are not good for a camera, since he is not even 4 yet.

So this was the defining picture that caught him in the act...  No mirrors or class in front of the camera...  Now my ol' beat up Cannon digital my be at the end of its life.  I have to push the lens cover open when I want to take pictures.  Every time I do it, I just smile.  Ahhhh, youth.

Hope everyone has a great Sunday!

Chris, you can replace the camera, but not your son....sounds like you two had a great time at the beach. Have a safe and happy July 4th.

I love Cannon cameras, Chris, but that's what also happened to mine- The shutter quit working. I got too much dirt in it crawling under homes!

I kinda miss my old 35mm Canon - it had a clear lens cover protecting the lens from flying debris from big blue shorted monsters. Glad to hear you're spending quality time together!

Chris,

From the looks and sound of things, I can't tell who is having more fun being a kid - you or Ryan? He's adorable! Ryan has to be having a great time with his dad. How many kids can say they built a snowman and played in the sand, ate smores in a fireplace, threw rocks in the water, roller skated, and did all those great things that are so much fun for a kid and had their dad all to themselves from sunrise to sunset. You're a great dad and don't ever forget it.

I love that photograph and your write-up of the experience. These are the times of your life!!!

Isn't it great to spend a day just having fun without having to figure out somebody else's problems or listen to someone gripe about something. There is nothing more important to a kid, than to have their dad all to themselves. You're a lucky guy :)
