Buying Strawberries in Clark County, Washington - It's Strawberry Shortcake Time!

Buying local strawberries in Clark County Washington

Looking for local strawberries in Clark County Washington?   There are many area farms, stores or farmer's markets where you can find them, or if you prefer,  there's always the U-Pick farms. One of our favorite places to buy local Strawberries in Clark County, Washington is at the Vancouver Farmer's Market.

Vancouver Farmer's MarketCurrently, the Vancouver Farmer's Market  has fresh local strawberries for sale - and they are the first season's crop of June bearers, which produce the largest berries. In addition to being delicious,  Strawberries contain cancer fighting ellagic acid, but also easily absorb pesticides, so read labels carefully, or ask questions. We choose only organically grown berries for our household.

Nothing beats the flavor of fresh strawberries and it just makes good sense to support the efforts of our local growers. If we buy our strawberries from California, or other locales, we're not doing our part to ensure the longevity of our local (and in my opinion, better) options. Besides, it's tough to beat the flavor of buying local Strawberries in Clark County, Washington.

Ann - yes little Pugsley and his love of strawberries. He's getting a berry a day out of the patio pot of strawberries. Pretty cute as he really gets excited about the treat.

Hi Carol Ann, I know we haven't had it for a while either - I think I'll make some this morning to take to a big barbecue we're attending this evening. Happy Fourth to you.

You too Joan! Hope you  have a perfect day. I hear it's hot in Denver - but, I'm sure you're used to it by now. :)

Debb, we love the Farmer's Market, been meaning to check out the one that is in Salmon Creek now too. Ever stop and get the strawberry shortcake at the Clark County Fair? A church has the corner spot each year at the fair and makes the best shortcake and pies I've tasted in a long time. I go for the strawberry shortcake but the wife will push people out of line for the marionberry stuff  :)

Yes, I have had the shortcake at the Clark County Fair. It is very good, as is the icecream at the Dairy Wive's booth.  Great memories and traditions huh? ( I have to say, the Marionberry stuff is pretty good too) Thanks for stopping by Ron, I love interacting with other Clark County Realtors.
