Last night I had a great time at a baseball game in the new Rockland County, New York stadium for the Rockland Boulders at Provident Bank Park.  After visiting with our friends and enjoying their company poolside, while partaking in a July 4th weekend barbecue, with delicious steak, macaroni salad, and potatoe salad, we all headed off to the game.

The Rockland Boulders played against the Newark Bears and won the game 5 to 4.  The stadium was filled with over 3,000 visitors.  People enjoyed their hot dogs, hamburgers, popcorn and ice cream (both dippin dots and delicious Breyer's flavors) and really loved the game.  Those parents that brought young children were happy to see that there is a playground on the grounds, and when the children became restless, they were able to take them to the tot lot for additional fun

It is great to have this baseball team so close to home and to be able to cheer them on.  It was also good to know that 15 minutes after the game ended I was back home in my driveway.  The police were at every exit and traffic moved very smoothly, as we were leaving.

In addition to enjoying the game, I loved watching the sun set over the beautiful Ramapo mountains, which can be viewed from many of the seats in the stadium.  I had a great time watching the fireworks, at the end of the game, too.  If you decide to go tonight, there will be 3D fireworks to enjoy.
