In Search of an American Flag
"And I'm proud to be an American,
where at least I know I'm free.
And I won't forget the men who died,
who gave that right to me."
Lee Greenwood, I'm Proud to be an American
As I see it . . . . . . .
In search of an American Flag
Today when we putting out our flags for the July, 4th holiday, we noticed that a couple of flags where wearing out and needed to be replace.
We have gone through this exercise many times in the past and replaced the flags that wore out. As I spoke with my wife Barbara we decided to replace the flags that where getting old. As we talked about the flags we made a decision that when we shopped for the flags we would only buy American Flags that where make in the USA.
We wanted America flags make in America, no I'm taking about a boycott. I'm talking about a positive decision of buying American flags make in the USA by an American Company.
We were willing to pay more for a flag made in the USA and support an American business.
We when to a few stores and we found flags but none of them where made in the USA. I was starting to thing that we would not find an American Flag made in the USA.
The next store on the list was Wal-Mart and as we checked the American Flags in Wal-Mart we found America Flags make in America.
The company name that makes the flags is Annin & Co. (www.annin.com) in Roseland New Jersey.
When we got home our seven year old grandson Jeff enjoyed helping us to put the flags out.
I'm proud to be an America and I'm proud to display the American Flag. The next time you are going to buy an America Flag, buy an American Flag made in the USA and maybe you help people keep their jobs.
