Getting news from around the globe, I sit and ponder in my office in Central Texas, as to what the next step we will take to get housing back on track. The many areas around this country that have over inflated prices of land, prices of homes and living standards are now reeling into a black hole. Sales are stagnate, homes are on the market for 8 months or more and we are stuck.  How can we change this for now and for the future?

I know from being in the Austin, Tx area for 30 years, I see this trend about every 9 1/2 years.  The developers go crazy, they start grabbing every piece of land they can to build neighborhoods, the land owners get greedy and start raising the price of their property.  Passing this along to the builders, the builders then start passing it on to the consumers until the market goes flat. Of course, the mortgage mess doesn't help much either.

When will this trend change? Would it do any good to put caps on price per acreage? Would better negotiating  be a plus? There are a million questions I could ask and still not know the answer. The more it bottoms out to be to me is the word:  GREED. I can only assume until you lose it all does it become the word: HUMBLE. Needless to say, that this has branched out to most industries which is why we are having the issue of GLOBAL WARMING. Can we stop it?

Any thoughts?
