If I Was A Real Estate Agent...

On my other blog, I posted today about setting your self apart from your competition in a cluttered marketplace...here's an excerpt.

Here's an example.  If I were a Real Estate Agent (hmmmhhhhh...can you think of a more cluttered marketplace?) what things could I do to stand out from my competitors?

How about GPS?  Wouldn't it be cool if an agent loaned loaned you a GPS unit (for those of us who don't opt for the Nav System upgrades) that you can keep in your car while your looking for a house?  Imagine the agent emailing you each day all of the new homes that fit your search criteria that you plug into your gps unit, and while driving around the unit tells you if you are close to a match.  Seems cool to me.

I'd love to hear some other ideas!

Oooh, that is a possibility....  It's always good to find a niche to stand out ....  I'm going to keep pondering this one.

Actually our MLS gives driving directions from most major highways to the listings.

David & Lisa:  Standing out is the key...my gps idea is not meant to be "The Best Idea", just to get you thinking on how you can stand out.

Karen:  Thanks for the comment...but are you the only agent who gives mls directions?  If so you'd stand out, but if not you'd blend in.  (by the way...GO DUCKS!)

My gps idea may be corny and have no value as it is not meant to be the only thing an agent does that would automatically increase sales...my attempt was to get you thinking about how you might stand out.  Imagine two people discussing their house search over coffee...client A "Frank and I are going out this weekend to drive by a list of houses our agent gave us" Client B "What a coincidence, us too...did you get one of those computer-thingy's to put in your car?"  Client A "No, what are you talking about?"  Client B  "You know, the thing that goes on your dashboard and gives you voice directions, tells you which house is closest to your current location, shows all the local restaurants, nearest shcools and shopping centers?"

John, first get this straight - I'm not a DUCK! Actually I'm a BUCKEYE from Ohio State. LOL

Secondly, our MLS gives the driving directions to the consumer when we email them our reports.
