OPEN HOUSE AT THE LOVETTSVILLE FIRE & RESCUE COMPANY WAS A GREAT SUCCESS
This friendly, efficient and valuable group of dedicated community friends has been in operation since
1966. Sunday, October 14, 2007 was Open House and the volunteer squad welcomed local residents
with hot dogs and tours of the fire equipment. The event was, of course, a fund raiser, but these guys
are a worth cause for my money.

Shortly after moving in, I was visited by a member of the squad who presented me with glow-in-the-dark numbers for my house and a post at the end of the driveway. If there's an emergency call after dark, the rescue or fire trucks will be able to find the house. They also presented me with a small poster with all of the local emergency numbers to put by the refrigerator where they emergency squad can quickly locate emergency contacts for me, should they be needed. These folks are very proactive about community resident safety. I was and am very impressed.

Selling real estate in Lovettsville Virginia is a pleasure. With neighbors like the Lovettsville Fire and Rescue, I have a lot of help.

Lenn: We live within two blocks of Saint Paul Fire Station #1 (and equally close to the original Station 1 - now used as a storage building for a construction firm, but maintained in near original condition). Of all the public services, they are held in the highest esteem by most citizens. I must still have some of the little boy in me, as I am still drawn by the bright red fire trucks, and if they are out in the drive, Daisy has learned that we will linger there a few moments on our walks (Daisy is totally disgusted by the fact there is no Dalmatian mascot at the station.)
