Kid Friendly Austin Realtor Wendy Papasan Shows How to Make a Volcano

By
Real Estate Agent with Keller Williams Realty #1 office in Austin

Costa Rican VolcanoFirst things first. Build a volcano any way you choose. Tape some cardboard around a bottle and cover it with masking tape and newspaper strips. If you want to get fancy, you can cover it with paper mache paste. We got ours from a kit, so you're on your own for the volcano! The cool part is making it explode anyway.

Once you've created your volcano, you just need three ingredients for the hot molten lava.

1. Baking Soda

2. Food Coloring

3. White Vinegar

And voila! You've done it. Takes 2 minutes and your kids will love you!

Good morning, Wendy! Isn't it amazing how little it takes to impress children? I remember having a chemistry set when I was young (back in the days when "survival of the fittest" was still the rule of thumb :)!  We would do the same "experiments" over and over again even though we knew exactly what would happen.  Children love the new and exciting but they seem to love being in control of predictable events just as much! By the way . . .cute kids!

Wendy, as the kids grow up they still love things like this in their science classes in high school!  This is a great little project for summertime fun and learning!
