As a society we need to have better manners.  About an hour ago I overheard one of our customer service people take a call (happen to be on speaker phone).  This person was yelling at the customer service rep over an order. 

Being a customer does not give someone the right to yell at a customer service rep, they are not VERBAL PUNCHING BAGS.

Long story short, I picked up the phone and in my best authoritarian voice stated ... "If you cannot lower your voice we WILL NOT assist you!"

Funny thing - the issue this customer has is not even with our company, but a supplier that had yet to deliver the product that was ordered in conjunction with several other products.  We just happen to be the only email the customer retained during the order process.  What an "ass" this person made of themselves all for nothing. 

Do people really think that yelling is going to accomplish anything?  At least have your yelling saved for someone who gets paid enough to deal with it.

Come on people ... just imagine the person is yelling at your kid.
