Ko-tuhhh, like a kitten purring, is how I pronounce Kotor.  It's a beautiful name for a beautiful place.  The city lives on the hills and the water is part of the Adriatic sea which is as blue as can be.  We tendered again into port as our ship was much too big.  Much of the city of Kotor is behind a big wall and we walked around inside.  It was gorgeous.  There were cats everywhere and little kittens running in and out of shops.  A little girl was crying because she wanted to take one of them with her and her mother said no.  The doorways to the shops were tiny and looked like they had been there forever.  I'm assuming people were shorter back in the day.

The churches were old and full of history.  My mom lit a candle for her late father.  I had to dip my feet in the water as it was just so clear and inviting.  We found a grocery store and as I am addicted to Coke Zero, I know I know it's horrible for you, my addiction was fulfilled.  A quick trip to an internet cafe allowed me to get in touch with home if even for only a minute.  Laundry drying in the warm summer air humanizes this great city.  It was a very relaxing, no agenda kind of day.  Perfect!

Next up:  Venice

Kerrie, Never got to that area of the Med while in the Navy, but knew folks who had been there and raved about it :)  Bill

Kerrie - your photos remind me there is a big giant beautiful world out there and I hope to visit some of the amazing places you did on your trip. Love all the photos, but the candles are really cool. BTW - I'm a diet Pepsi fan - lol.

Kerrie, you had one very special trip, and this little place looks neat. There is such as change of pace in entering some of those European towns that are hundreds of years old or more when compared to our entire country that is just a little over 300 years old

Visions of an old lady saying take this cross for your mothers sake.  Wolves howling and fog. Great post ut Montenegro conjures up images of vampires and things that go bump in the night

Gee Kerrie, I just got back from Israel and this place looks just like it, including the cats!  Strays are everywhere there.
