Do YOU have an Austerity Plan in Place?

More importantly, does our failing government have any such plan?  If not, do you think they should?

I have been hearing quite a bit in the news lately about the country of Greece adopting extreme measures and cutting vital services as it tries to survive the "Great Recession".  I have also heard of some of our own states cutting back services and now we see our one stellar credit rating being downgraded!  Many of my clients, friends and even strangers have told me some extreme measures they have taken to cut expenses.

Many folks I know who grew up in the 50's and earlier have turned their thermostat up to 85 during the summer heat wave and one couple survived the winter at a cool 60 degree max!

Quite a few people have told me they only buy 3-4 gallons of gas at a time whenever there is an increase.  A real pain if you commute but if millions did this it would send a message that people are slower to buy at the higher price.

My question to you is what sorts of things have you heard of that foks have done to save money, or what are you doing to survive  THE GREAT RECESSION?

Thanks Liz,

That is one I had not thought of, and sadly you are probably correct, hyperinflation is a strong possibility in the near future.
