Now that summer has hit, many people are out enjoying their patios and decks. You may find at this point you're patio isn't what it used to be. Or maybe you just purchased your home and you think a patio would compliment the home perfectly. Many homeowners are faced with a ton of choices when it comes to installing a patio. Should they do brick or concrete? What color? Both have pluses and minuses. The plus side to pavers is that they can easily be removed if need be. For example, say you have an access area to your water line or sewer line under your patio, you may need to fix it at some point and you don't want to have to rip out concrete. The down side, is every gardeners nightmare, weeds. Because the paver has a small surround of sand, weeds will ease their way into the cracks. Just be prepared to keep them in check! The pluses to concrete is the flexibility with the design. They have many different colors, textures and overall options. You can make it look like a brick, stone or tile pattern. The downside of course is that concrete may crack over time.
