I'm reaching out to Active Rain members since you don't need to live in Oakland to vote for my photo.

Please vote today it take two seconds and I would love to win a ticket for my friends from Chicago to visit me in Oakland. They were so supportive when my father passed away and I would love the opportunity to see them.

If the link above doesnt' work, this is the link: http://www.whyichooseoakland.com/entry/181608. and it takes you directly to the I choose Oakland contest page on their website. You do not have to log into your Facebook.

In the scroll down click Recent and you will see a Gondola photo titled A Glimpse of Oakland CA by Elisa Uribe. When you click on the photo to view it larger, right below the photo is a blue bar that says "vote for this entry" if you click there, it should work:)

I tried, too, using my Facebook. But it wanted to send me promo stuff which I didn't want to allow. Nice pix, though. My parents live at Noble Tower on Lakeside, directly across Lake Chalet Restaurant. Their unit is on the top floor, so we have a fabulous view of Lake Merritt. Haven't gone on the gondola, but we've paddled our way around.

Thanks Pacita, I have 8 votes now and know it works fine. You don't have to log into your Facebook account to vote, that's only ify ou want to enter the contest. I will update my post again so it's more clear.

Sounds like your parents have a great place to call home! :)
