It's Vacation Time and the Phone is Ringing!
Vacation time is always exciting - the days leading up to it are filled with double-checking details:
- Making sure all documents are accurate, in place, and backed up
- Making appointments early for closing signing of documents
- Setting the auto-email signature for "out of the office"
- Letting all my clients, prospects and other regular contacts know I'll be away
- Juggling walk throughs, inspections, and other important facets of a transaction and setting up a backup agent to cover any emergencies
I'm a list maker. I have all my files color-coded and clearly labeled, set out like magazines in a library on my credenza. I don't think I've EVER had so many simultaneous transactions occurring at one time in my 6 years as a REALTOR. It's pretty exciting.
Today I received another referral, and I have a lead from TRULIA flying in from Germany today as well. I'm showing the referral a few homes tomorrow and I've got a morning appointment with the new residents from Germany to see homes closest to the airport on Saturday. I'll be in the area when I drop my daughter off for her own mini-vacation. I think it's important to touch base and explain Arizona State Agency and the buyer-broker agreement BEFORE I take off. They are first time home-buyers and the week to look around Tucson will be good for their acclimation to our SW Desert area. I bet they'll get a kick out of seeing folks rake their rocks instead of mow their lawns...
I'm thrilled to be spending time with my Wisconsin family, and another few precious days with my granddaughter, who will be three this August.
So -- friends, family, clients, prospects - I'll be gone for ten days, but I'll have my smart phone, my lap top, and my back up systems in place. I'll be taking care of you, just like I'll be taking care of myself with a little R & R.
Makes me darn excited to get back to work just thinking about it...
