Pay It Forward - It Really Is Simple

This group, 'The Pay It Forward Accountability Group',
has really brought awareness of random acts of kindness to the fore front of our minds.

Sometimes, you have to look and listen for opportunities and other times they present themselves to you.
It can be as simple as waiting to hold a door open for someone coming along.

cartoon picture of boy holding door open for manThis is what happened to us this week, carrying heavy bags ourselves we noticed a man coming along loaded with his own packages. We leaned on the open door and waited for him. Our bags were heavy so we'll admit, we were silently wishing he would walk quicker, but we waited.

He thanked us as he walked through.
We had to smile though because as we walked away we looked back to see the man had gone back and held the door open for someone else.

Paying it forward can be as simple as that and its catching!

As a good friend of ours Chris Smith says, "we feel that we are the real beneficiaries of actions like these, when we consider how it makes us feel for a while".

Energy makes energy. Paying it forward is opening the cosmos to all kinds of possibilities. Keep on keeping on, and spread the good news!

It is great to see a positive result from something you did. Little things mean a lot more than most people think.

Hi Al and Peggy,

Never hurts to be the good guys (even with heavy bags) ... At some time and in some way by making other people's day, it will benefit you in the future....

My wise old grandmother taught me to open the door for ladies, and I still do that. It’s an unknown skill here in San Diego, and I really get some interesting stares from some people, from guys because I was nice to their lady, and from ladies who want me to know that they are very capable of opening the door themselves. I keep doing it anyways.

I grew up in Southern California so I never learned how to open doors for other people. We’ve always had electric doors. You get anywhere near them and they open automatically!

Did they have those bumper stickers in Canada that said “Practice Random Acts of Kindness”? I think I got one way back in 1978 for my first car.
