Uncle Dave Macon Days kicks off the 34th annual festival July 8 - 10 Cannonsburgh! The celebration is a fun family-oriented event 
that occurs annually in Murfreesboro TN and brings in more than 40,000 people! Uncle Dave Macon Days is even selected by the Southeast Tourism Society as one of the TOP 20 events in the southeast.
The festival offers something for everyone. There are children’s activities, local artisians displaying their goods for sale, craft demonstrations, historic photo exhibits, plenty of music and dance from talented musicians and dancers from all across the country, and good old fashioned storytelling. Kids and adults will both enjoy watching the motorless parade with horse and mule drawn wagons! The parade will leave Central Magnet School at 10 am Saturday morning and will proceed down E. Main St toward our historic Rutherford County Courhouse and end at Cannonsburg.
Uncle Dave Macon was one of the original Grand Ole Opry stars and an 
extremely talented banjo player. The festival was established in honor of his memory and takes place in the pioneer village called Cannonsburg which was built as a bi-centennial celebration in 1976 and is one of the few bicentennial projects still in use today. There are over 20 restored log structures located in the village along with a working blacksmith and old time chapel where some great gospel singing is sure to take place during the celebration.
