Writing about the food link for the rescue animals brought to mind that we (my associate and I) had not written a post about spaying and neutering lately. 

There is a great organization for people in Minnesota who cannot afford to have their pets (dogs and cats) neutered by their local veterinarian.  And that is where MNSNAP comes in to assist. 

This is a mostly mobile veterninary clinic serving a great deal of Minnesota, Roseville, Zimmerman, Crystal, Minneapolis, Brainerd, Bemidji, Spring Lake Park, Minnetonka, St. Paul, Elk River, Shakopee, Hastings, North Branch, Inver Grove Heights, Faribault, Cottage Grove, Mahtomedi, Owatonna, Rochester and Plymouth just this month. 

If you can show that you need this assistance (check the website), they can help you get your pet neutered or spayed. 

If you are able to, you might consider a tax-deductible donation to this great cause.

Don, thanks for sending this out.  MNSNAP is a great resource for those who can't afford the huge vet bills.  One cat can be spayed or neutered for about $40.  That is a huge savings over my local vet who charged $275.

I haven't used this service, but we have literature about it at the antique shop.  I know three people who have used it, and they raved about the service (and especially the price.)
