Anna, great post! In this market, I'm finding almost all of the jobs I get are for consults, paid for by agents. So some agents are getting the message about making sure their listings are presented in the best possible light. I wish more owners would realize the importance of a staging consult, too, and what the ROI is for the wealth of information we provide! I love your line about how sellers think their home is so special, but to buyers, it's just another house on the market.

Al thank you. Buyers set up those new rules and want ready to move in homes. Some sellers are getting that, but majority of them are still stuck in 10 years ago concept.

Maureen, even Realtors tell their clients that the house shows well and this is not what buyers are expecting. They want WOW. That's why every house need a Staging consultation just like home inspection. And today the home inspection has become the norm.

Even the definition of “smart sellers” has changed in the past decade. When I bought my condominium ten years ago, a smart seller was one who took the highest offer out of the ten that came in on the first day the property was listed! lol
