LISTEN TO THE MESSAGE...DO NOT BE DISTRACTED BY THE MESSENGER

The title of this post applies to any subject you can imagine. How about your boss is trying to explain something to you and he/she doesn't do a very good job of it and you are tempted to judge them on presentation and when you do so, you missed the message. Same thing in a marriage and friendships too

GET IT NOW...OR YOU WILL GET LATER

Human nature coupled with people's egos and pride work against them when they get take the bait and focus on the messenger instead of the point. If you do, the lesson will have to come around again and maybe even again until you do get it. More often than not, that comes with consequences and..... they are not pretty sometimes

I HEAR YOU...BUT THE "DO" IS A KILLER

This is an easy subject to discuss, share and even understand. But, TRY DOING IT. Whew! When you are up at bat, it is not so easy to hit one out of the park is what you find out pretty quick. Over time, you must master the art of listening and observing instead of defending and arguing

DON'T JUDGE...JUST LISTEN

More often than not, the messenger doesn't fit the pre-conceived profile either. A person who looks dorky or who cant communicate may be the one chosen to explain to you something. Or it can come in a way you don't expect it either. Parents are often ignored and resented because of their emotional deliveries, but listen to the message. If it is emotionally delivered, perhaps it is something someone wants you to know about. Ignore the emotions and get the message

CAN BE COSTLY

I once turned a all cash buyer...AWAY. I cringe  when I think about my earlier, young, ignorant, know it all years. He looked like a nobody, talked like a nobody and I concluded he was a nobody all before hearing him out. He actually came back three times and on the third, told me he was not interested which was his mild mannered way of telling me off

Listen to the message please and....... and not be distracted by the messenger.....
