I joined Active Rain at the invitation of my Office Manager Midori Miller on December 8th, 2006.

At the time I believe the membership was at about 13,000.

Like everyone else I was nervous about writing my first blog, but I bet I was more nervous, just because I work in a Real Estate office I am not an expert in the field and I'm sure not going to tell anyone I am. I did a hokey little blog about what I had in my profile thinking everyone read profiles like me.

Since it was the begining of the holiday's I wrote Christmas VS X-mas which seemed to get a good response. I wish TLW would have posted and I would have read What Would Happen If Reciprocity...Paid A Visit To Active Rain...ROAR!  back then.

At this time, I had found certain bloggerss I loved to read and would visit them daily...

Rich Jacobson  ~ Whose blog title back then was Singing In The Rain... I believe.

Jacqulyn Richey ~ Ok, her husband Charles is the blogger in the family actually.

Randy Prothero ~ AKA Hawaii Randy, AKA Not Just Another Pretty Face, and finally, someone who was taking me back in time to my High School Days in Da Islands!

Laurie Manny ~ A lady living in a area I used to know well, and showing me how much it has changed over the years.

Then came Christmas Eve... NORAD allows us to watch them Track Santa as he makes his rounds. Well TLW thought that was some pretty neat stuff then found out I had connections to NORAD!

I really didn't know what I could write about that was Real Estate Related! Then some photos came to me for a listing, and I thought OH! I can teach people how to tweak or take some photos to make them look better in the MLS or on their websites! You guys really liked this one! You made my day with your comments! Thanks so much!

I did a series on Keeping Children Safe after I did some work with Mark Lunsford and wrapped up the series with his daughter, Jessica Lunsford's killer getting the death sentence in her murder. I haven't done anymore on the series as this isn't really the right forum for it even though it is an import subject to me. Maybe one day on a outside blog I will start it up again.

Then I found Localism, that's it! Katey Bar The Door! Lysa found a place for her voice! The Volusia County News And Events Section will be perfect for me!

My Bikes and Blues Ride and Golf Classic was coming up, Bike Week, The Daytona 500! (not in that order) Oh, how I love Localism!

After our events were over, I thought I would introduce you to some of our wildlife around here and you loved it, someone featured it! I didn't even know you could featured on Localism!

I got to teach you about Florida's Other Snow-Bird~The Northern Atlantic Right Whales, my favorite snow bird for sure! I also got to show you some more of my favorite Florida bird friends, or the day I searched out the rare Black Skimmers.

So far the best part of Active Rain was getting to meet all the neat people I have met here, both online and in person at the Active Rain 1st Birthday Party in Orlando.

Midori and I got to meet, TLW, Broker Bryant, Matt Blum, Matt & Lydia Heaton, Caleb Mardini (miss you already Caleb!), Cyndee and Jack Haydon, Chris Griffith, Nick the Appraiser, Ruth Jacobs, Neal Bloom, Ines and Rick, David Abernathy and a few more were there, but I can't remember who.. Sorry to those of you who I left out!

Active Rain has been a wonderful learning experience for me, I've loved every minute of it! I'm looking forward to many more posts and commenting to you!
