So You Think You Can Dance ~ But Can You Shag??
The Carolina Shag is the state dance of North and South Carolina ~ The popular six count partner dance is executed to a moderate tempo music where the upper body and hips hardly move as the legs do elaborate kicks and fancy footwork. The term "Carolina Shag" is thought to have emerged along the strands between Myrtle Beach, South Carolina and Wilmington, North Carolina.
So You Think You Can Dance ~ Then why not join the Coastal Shag Club ~ a nonprofit social club that hosts multiple events throughout the year to benefit programs and charities in Brunswick County. Have some fun shagging and help benefit the community at the same time.
Coastal Shag Club dances are held on the third Saturday of each month. The dances are open to the public for an admission charge of $5 for members of any shag club and $8 for non-members.
The Coastal Shag Club monthly dances are held in the Moose Lodge in Shallotte located at 253 Holden Beach Road.
The dances are held from 7:00 pm to 10:30 pm with a FREE SHAG LESSON at 6:30 pm.
The Coastal Shag Club is a proud member and supporter of
