Beat The Odds!!

I believe that men and women who make changes in our history are the ones who have come up against the odds, hold their ground and say “ you can’t stop me.”

These same people make the decision that there is more to them than what other people say. They believe there’s an ability inside of them to accomplish great things. They may not know exactly how they are going to do it, but they try because they believe in their dream, their mission, their purpose; they believe in themselves.

In addition, the people who change the world are the ones who have taken “impossible” out of their vocabulary. Whenever someone says “that’s impossible, you can’t do it” these folks smile and say “ I think the people saying it’s impossible need to get out of the way of the people doing it.”

Leaders like this have a vision, they focus on the horizon and have daily goals to keep them on track. They realize that if there’s no goal to move them forward, they’ll be tempted to check the rear view mirror. If there’s no vision in front pulling them forward, it’s easy to fall back to the well worn path they know so well.

Make a plan. Give yourself the gift of something that will motivate you. Dream, think, envision and plan how you want to live your life, who you want to be, where you want to be in 1-3-5-10 years.

Put the plan in writing and place it in a convenient location where you can see it every day and you can check your progress.

You may be thinking “that’s all fine and dandy Bill, but I’m facing great odds.” Well, all I can tell you is “don’t give up. Beat the odds.”

Whatever your circumstances, don’t throw away your potential, your dreams, your vision for your life. Your potential must be exercised to be fulfilled. You have to make demands on it. Until you attempt things you’ve never done before, you’ll never harness the resources within you.

There are no short cuts. The wishbone will never replace the backbone! Challenge yourself to climb beyond any limitations you may have placed on yourself. Believe in the potential within you to accomplish something worthwhile. Don’t be so afraid of failure or other people’s opinions that you refuse to try. Having the courage to move forward is what counts.
