~ Pay It Forward - Garage Sale Help ~
Many of you are familiar from my posts in the past, about what a wonderfulneighborhood I live in. We know one another by name, go to events together, have BBQs, etc. My neighbor, Sara, had a garage sale this weekend and asked if she could borrow my 2 tables. I of course said, "yes". She was planning on selling a lot of kids clothes. Girl clothes from infant to size 6. And boys clothes from infant to 18 months.
I know the kind of shopper Sara is. And when I tell you a lot of clothes, I mean a lot of clothes! She had no less than 10 full boxes of clothes! I told her I would help her sort all of the clothes and get her organized.
We separated them by piles for each size; new born (0-3 months), 3-6 months, 6-12 months, 12-18 months and then regular sizes; 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6. There were mounds of clothes! Mostly Gymboree, Baby Gap, Carter and Juicy Couture . The clothes were a big draw! I can't tell you how many comments I overheard from shoppers about how well dressed the kids were that lived in the house!
And of course, as shoppers went through the mounds to pick out what they wanted, I had to go back through the messy piles to reorganize them and put them back into the correct sizes. Folks at garage sales aren't too worried about mixing up the sizes, that's for sure. At the end of the sale, Sara made several hundred dollars she plans on using it to shop for new clothes for the kids!
