Have you ever photographed a blonde Box Turtle?

We usually find Box Turtles in darker colors.  This blonde Box Turtle is a resident at the Maymont Nature Center in Richmond, Virginia.  www.maymont.org  The Nature Center features wildlife that is found in the Central Virginia area.

Dolores and I toured the Maymont estate, gardens and Nature center on Saturday, July 9, 2011.

If you have photographs from your favorite places, please share them in the comments for this post.

This is a really catchy title for your post. I couldn't wait to see what it was about. I'm a big fan of turtles since i was a child, so I'm also loving this photo.

Thanks for stopping by.  Include a nature center in your summer plans and enjoy a bit of time away from real estate.

Roy, I love the lightness of the shell color. That is probably unusual compared to the norm. Excellent nature photos that you always bring to us. Thanks. BTW, don't blondes have more fun? This is probably one fun reptile.

Thanks for your comments. The coloring of this Box Turtle is unusual. Nature always provides special opportunities to enjoy wildlife colors.  Always have your camera in hand to capture those special moments.

Great photos Roy! The blonde box turtle looks like he'd blend in well with his environment. What a lovely turned and rabbit too!
