My Comments for Your Comments
Good information to know! Thank you, Mimi for posting this; it's something that I was unaware of. I'm going right now to see if there are any responses to the many comments I've left over time.
When I first started on ActiveRain, there were habits and styles that developed in learning to navigate the site. As a Newbie, I would find people on the left column of the Blog tab that were posting (Blog Posts), and I would comment on those. As I found people whose writing I liked, or with whom I felt a meeting of the minds, I would subscribe to them. The more people that I subscribed to, the easier it became to get my ten comments in each day. The more I commented, the more interaction there was.
And then someone told me about the My Comments section on the left side towards the bottom of My Home page. When you open that up, it takes you back to exactly where you commented on other people's blogs. The beauty of that is that you can see if they have responded to you. Many times there are responses to your comment that beg for another response from you. So when I would go to make my daily comments, the first place I started going was to the My Comments section to see if there were places that I could interact and respond. I found that THAT was where the relationships were built and the friendships formed.
So if you're new in the Rain, or if you didn't know about the My Comment feature, I would encourage you to try it out. What is YOUR best measure of success in making your daily comments?
