What's Wrong With This Picture? Gas Line or Security Cable?

Bill Zoller, of U.S. Inspect, shared this picture and invited comments as to why this gas line was installed this way.  I have to admit, I am stumped... I can think of no "good" reason why a person would loop a gas line around a post... Can you?

Answer: Unacceptable Installation!

There must have been a reason the installer of this water heater gas line looped it around the storage shelf framing? The picture just doesn't give us the benefit of the doubt.

You decide and let us know your thoughts.

At any rate, it's not an acceptable method for gas line installation and needs to be corrected.

What were they thinking?  That's just too unreal!  Do they call themselves Professionals?  Well, according to this picture, NO!  Thanks for sharing!  I'm sure the homeowner has said something!

Not smart at all.  I thought you had to be licensed and insured to install gas lines...or even disconnect/reconnect.

HI Chris,

the question is not why, but when, and who.....

I bet you real money that the shelving was build after the tank was installed...... so it is most likely the home owners handy work that created this danger zone....

Very odd Chris~ I can't see any logical reason to twine a gas line around anything, let alone a shelf that could be knocked over! Danger Will Robinson!!! That does not compute...

Chris,  Someone did this that people would blog about it, what do you think?  Maybe take did not want to take the shelf with them when they move.
