Branson Speedway-NASCAR or NOT?

A planning and zoning meeting may still be going on as I type tonight. The Branson Speedway is hoping to get approval for commercial zoning to complete a "NASCAR" track. To make it more interesting, Nascar supporter and Big Cedar owner Johnny Morris has come out with a letter not supporting this project. I just want to keep everyone updated on this issue since it effects the real estate market in the area. Whether I support it or not, I'm basically undecided-just reporting what's going on. Very interesting, Carrie. I tend to agree with Johnny Morris. The only thing I can compare it to is the stadium that was built in Ozark, and the noise and the lights from there did have a negative impact on all the housing around it, That, too, was a huge drain on Ozark's financial resources. That stadium is now a training ground for tractor trailer drivers.

Hey Lina, Yes I know it is interesting. In a lot of ways Branson could use something new, but with new developments that have fallen through and leaving an ugly hole in the ground, people are kind of afraid. I hope it's for real and a success after all the effort. Great new picture by the way!!!

Well I can't find any new news about the race track I myself and family was hoping it would get approval but guess not .Branson really need something different it really going down hill . So many Businesses are closed down and selling out .

Thanks for your comment Karen, as far as I know there are no further plans for any race track in Branson. But on the positive-The city of Branson is doing great things to make much needed improvments, like the walkways on Hwy 76 (which is under construction now) , a Branson Landing type redo of the Grand Village, and new attractions coming soon. It should make Branson more attractive and give business owners a boost.
