Google+ ~ Just Scratching the Surface...
Sometimes one just has to eat their words. When I was invited to Google+ by Craig Rutman and Craig Daniels, my first impression was, "Not That I'm Anti-Social" but here we go with another social media thing. Still yet another craze to consume time in an already jam packed work day.
But being the techie I am, I made the choice to give it a shot. I have never been able to wrap my bird-sized brain around Twitter. Just don't get it. FaceBook is okay, but... Google+ I get. It seems to be a combination of the best of both. Due to time constraints, I have only begun to scratch the surface but I'm sure that some techies will be writing posts about the bells and whistles in the very near future.
Kinda like Amway, it lets you draw circles but these are more productive. I like the way that I can name the circles, select who goes into the sphere of influence, create hang outs and integrate with other Google products. Now all they need is a "Thumbs Up" icon. FaceBook, will certainly get a run for it's money as once again, the mighty Google will show who's boss...
Michael, Haven't heard of google plus. I will be taking a look at this. Thanks!
Michael - I just regloged Debbie Gartner's post on Google +1 and it's benefits - she explains it in simple terms and I've already hopped on the bandwagon for this one because it's all about the Google Juice. Don't use Twitter, Slide and many others, but this one does warrant the small amount of effort - takes 2 minutes to set up. If you'll go to my web page - I'll go to yours - lol and give you a +....
Thanks for sharing --- I like everything about Google --- just keep trying to learn more --- Have a great day!
Good morning Michael...I will have to check it out.....Thanks for the tip!
Hope you have a great day! ---Rob
Go Vols!
Good morning, Michael. I hope you share more information on Google +. There seem to be many questions on privacy and ownership of posted information and photographs.
Blooming for you!
OH no, not another web site, social media site to spend time on! I hesitantly may check it out anyway :-)
Eventually one company will come up with a platform for 1 item to be posted, commented, like, forwarded, shared, edited and so on
So far the rumors are all good ones.
Time will tell
Enjoy the day
Hi Michael - I too am just getting started with Google + Man o man, more "stuff" to do!
I have not yet checked it out, apparently, I was not worthy of an invite to the beta test....
I have heard of the google+ but have not experienced it yet, luckily real estate is keeping me busy.
I think we're all just scratcing the surface with this Google+ thing. But it definitely looks promising.
If anyone reading this needs a pretty good primer on how to get started with Google+ they can click here:
I am there, I am hanging out. I will let other people spin their wheels and write posts about it so I can have my aha moment in the future!
Here we go again. I gave up on Twitter, closed my account. Facebook is Ok but don't visit often. Linkedin is another OK. Now that I'm just after four years getting AR down here comes something else. I don't even have my QR Code Thingy yet.
...so what circle did you put me in?? I am not sure I am a fan...now rather than "most read" and "all" on FB...I have to click on every circle to see what's happening...I am kind of addicted to FB myself...but that's just me...
Michael,
I haven't had time to play with the newGoogle+ but you've motivated me. I'm so busy though.... hope I catch on quick!!!!
Michale, OK I need to go check this out, it does look interesting. I am going to check out the site Graig mentioned above.
Hi Michael - I am waiting for a Google + invite to come my way. I am starting to get interested in it.
Michael, I was about to comment on your post, but got distracted by the above comment. I have noticed more people trying to proliferate scams and such through my blog... looks like amina desmond wants to send you some pictures ;-)
Michael, I will wait a few months to see if the system works for others. I'm no early adopter.
Hey Michael, I would love to feature this in my Google PLUS Group, Great job!! I will be looking for you on +
