Price points for 4-bedroom homes in the Silicon Valley

Yesterday I was contacted by a referral partner whose client will be relocating to the Mountain View - Palo Alto area of California -- in other words, to the Silicon Valley. Until I talk directly with the party moving here, there's no telling which of our communities might be the best fit.

A little initial research for homes with at least 4 bedrooms, 2 baths, came up with the following bits of information, which gives a snapshot of housing in our area:
homes for sale in Silicon Valley communities

All of these communities have good schools, and are within a 10-30 minute commute to Google headquarters in Mountain View. Other communities, including Cupertino, Mountain View, Sunnyvale, and Los Altos Hills, would make fine spots to call home. Each town has its own attributes and special feel.

I'm looking forward to learning what appeals to this relocating professional and sharing my knowledge of the communities. I'm happy to share it with you, too.

Lottie:  I think it's great that you point out that it is an individual and personalized choice for home consideration.  It's NOT all about the house and its' features.  You state correctly that it's a blend between potential homeowner and home.  I think that gets overlooked or understated at times.

Hello Gene - lifestyle is huge. When meeting potential buyers for the first time, I always like to go beyond size of house they hope for, number of bedrooms they need, and delve into the lifestyle they're looking for, what they like to do in their precious free time. Maybe it's because of our topography--flat lands closer to the bay, rolling and steep hills a bit further toward the center of the Peninsula, but our towns definitely have unique character, and one size doesn't fit all.

Lottie,

Your comments and data ring so true. Your insight comes from taking the time to find out what indeed is most important to your client on top of all the other "stuff" most agent only rely upon. Good for you.

It's only going to be a matter of time before your referral is in their new home.  Congratulations.
