Terrace Park, located in the heart of downtown Sioux Falls, is one of my favorite places to be. Established in 1917 on 52 acres there is something for everyone here. Terrace Park pool built in 1994 has several slides and is a zero entry pool for the safety of your little ones. For the older kids there is basketball, baseball and tennis courts. In 1922 a Outdoor Amphitheater was built which is still in use every Sunday night at 8pm (during summer) when the Sioux Falls Municipal Band has a concert. With picnic shelters and playground equipment you have all you need for an afternoon of fun. My personal favorite area is the Terrace Park Japanese Gardens. With Japanese garden lanterns, several pagodas and gazebos and a beautiful waterfall it is a sight to behold and all with a beautiful view of Covell Lake. I have provided some pictures for you to enjoy. My little princess is the red haired girl and the other cutie is her bestie Eihilin.
Good Evening Sara-Mana! Thanks for stopping by! Yes this is where I go when I need a little away time from my munchkins. I couch out right by that waterfall with a good book! It is delightful!
Rosalie--What a great location to get away from the hub-bub of life with or without kids and family. A good book sounds like a good way to enjoy an afternoon.
Mary-I don't know what it is about the sound of running water but I just love it! Except for the fact that it makes you have to pee! On the upside the bathroom is fairly close! You know my favorite thing about this area is that it is a beautiful backdrop for pictures. This is also a beautiul and affordable spot for weddings!
Rosalie-That's a nice looking outdoor setting. I guess it's impossible to have a terrible looking Japanese garden. I've seen pictures of them in lots of places and they all look impressive.
Wayne- I am big on taking all of my kids pictures outside. Why would you take a picture inside when mother nature makes such beautiful backdrops! Hope you not baking your tail end down there. It was 105 on the heat index here today!
