There is a fun new networking site in case you haven't hear about it, it's called meetup.com.  It's not a dating site.

 If you have a business interest (say, entrepreneurship or real estate), or even a personal interest (like dogs, kites, poker) you an create (or join) a meetup.com

For most big cities there are already lots of groups to join, but if you can't find a group (or groups) that interests you, you can create your own and become the group leader.

I have formed one in my area regarding entreprenuership and already have 9 new members.  It's a great way to expand your sphere by getting together with others who share your same interests.
