4 Comments on If you're going to bug me for feedback, and I give it - how about you actually read it?
Good grief! Anytime an agent gives feedback expressing a buyer's interest in the property, the listing agent had better answer back right away. Send them lots of information and try to create a good feeling about the property with the interested party! Nice post, Tracie!
Feedback is obviously important courtesy that we give to each other as agents. I agree that if you provide it, the least the listing agent can do is read it. The only thing worse than that is being harassed for feedback.
I showed a home this past Saturday night at 7, got an e-mail that evening that I was not able to respond to. 3 more e-mails before 12 noon on Sunday and then a phone call by 1 PM Sunday asking why I hadn't responded. 24 hours for a feedback response is more than reasonable in my opinion. We all have lives outside of work and when agents don't respect that it makes providing any feedback less desirable.
A listing agent should be grateful to you for taking your time to show, then provide feedback and then say there is interest in the home. Unbelievable that they didn't respect that.
Tracie~ The absence of feedback neans that the buyer has no interest in the property. Your buyer has interest, though. I would also be amazed when the listing agent does not respond. Is he/she out of town or sick, maybe?
If my buyer has specific questions, though, I send them directly to the listing agent, via an email.
Hi Rose - I can't help but wonder if the seller knows their agent is dropping the ball.
Scott, I'm with you, I can understand repeat requests for feedback, but I dislike the nagging. We use CSS and it automatically sends a feedback request after a showing, but we have it set to only send one request. If we don't get feedback, we can manually send another request or call the showing agent. I hate it when the listing agent has it set on the maximum.
Liz, I'm pretty sure the feedback response goes to the agent's e-mail, so as far as I'm concerned I did e-mail her. I will have to call her. It stinks that I now have to follow up with her again. If people would do their job, I wouldn't have to do mine twice - and we might get to the next step a little sooner.
