~ Harry Potter Movie ~

I just got home from seeing the last installment of the Harry Potter movies at the Southlands Movie Theaters! Some real estate vendors sponsored a 'sneak peak' prior to the movie opening at midnight tonight. I saw it at 7:00pm Denver time.

I started reading the books because I had originally purchased the first 3 for my young niece and nephew. But before I gave them the books, I heard that there was a death within the first few pages of the book. So I decided to read the books to see if they were appropriate for them to read. Naturally, I got hooked. And I did pass them along for them to read.

My niece, now 17, is still a big fan of the series. I sent her a text from the theater letting her know I was about to see the movie. She and her friends have been camping out for 2 days in order to see the movie when it previewed. When I got out of the theater, she still had 2 hours to wait. I gave her a call to just give her a hard time that I had already seen the movie!

If anyone can answer this question, I am curious as to why so many kids were carrying a Harry Potter book with them into the movie. I asked my niece and she had no clue. Anyway, enjoy the movie.

I was sad to read and see an end to the well written series, but like any good thing, there must always been an end.

Dawn, isn't this crazy? Here in Arizona, people started lining up at midnight LAST night. Then, sat through our heat. I have no idea what it is because I never did this, but I think it's the Star Wars of the 2000's. As to the book in hand, it must mean something - I hope someone knows.

I'm heading to see a midnight showing tonight. While there may have been a promotion, I know some kids are re-reading the series in preparation for seeing the last movie.

Hey, I found out the reason from the granddaughters. The did one of those, "oh grandma" moments first, LOL. But, some of the actors and the author have been known to show up around the premiers. They were all looking to get their books autographed.

Dawn I think I saw the first two Harry Potters. My youngest was into them but has since grown out of them. I don't think I will be seeing this one.

Dawn, gotta admit that I like the Harry Potter series. I think the longest I ever spent in line was to see a movie was 2 hours for the Exorcist...it was January or February in Chicago and the temp was about 14 degrees...

I wish I could enjoy these more. I feel left out on all the fun. Tried to watch the movies and fell asleep. I think I have to read the books first and get hooked.

People started lining up in AZ at midnight just to get into an air conditioned building! :-) And just think, in the next 20 years when they "redux" it all again (as they did with Starwars) it'll be all nostalgic for us!! (And congrats on the 400K milestone!)
