Great South Bay Music Festival, Shorefront Park, Patchogue, NY

The weather this weekend will be just perfect for the 5th annual Great South Bay Music Festival, Shorefront Park, Patchogue, NY. Mid 80's, sunny, low humidity and zero chance of rain is about as good as it gets for this 3 day music festival and cultural event where 45 artists will be showcased on 3 stages. Some like David Bromberg and Hot Tuna are nationally known artists and some are just emerging but immensely talented, I'm told. A crowd of about 20,000 is expected to attend Long Island's largest music festival from July 15th - 17th.

Tickets can be purchased online and at the box office. There are discounts for seniors, students and Patchogue village residents. Parking is free on the village streets but there's also a limited amount of paid parking nearby. Check out the website for all additional information.

Jill, I have to admit your weather is terrific. We are under a heat advisory until WEDNESDAY NIGHT. Triple digit heat index with temps around 100 and humidity in the 70s. Real fun.

Patricia - Recently, they've revitalized the downtown area of Patchogue. They made it restaurant row and have opened all kinds of places to bring people in. Events like this one are meant to put Patchogue back on the map. It was always beautiful to me.

Ron - No not renaissance exactly but a bunch of people dressed in character.

When I lived in Long Island (Hauppauge), it was always so much fun to drive around and visit the various neighborhoods that continue to have that small town charm. Patchogue is one of them!
