According to an article this week in Forbes, Raleigh NC is ranked #2 as the next Boom Town in the United States. This is a ranking of the largest metro areas (over 1 million). Approximately one third of the ranking score is based on job growth, focusing on growth after the start of the Great Recession. The rest of the score is made up of factors such as family formation, population growth and growth in educated migration.
Quoting Forbes "Raleigh has experienced the second-highest overall population increase and the third-highest job growth over the past two decades in the U.S. It also ranked among those regions seeing the biggest jump in new immigrants and is the No. 1 city for families with young children. The area is a magnet for technology companies fleeing the more expensive, congested and highly regulated northeast corridor. Affordable housing and short commute times are no doubt highly attractive to recent college graduates and millennials looking to start families."
All of us who live in the Raleigh Metro area know this is a great place to live, start a family or start a business.

Funny how things all switch around. I remember when Phoenix was THE place...just a few years back. I hope that Raleigh is ready for their rapid growth and has great city planning in place!
☂ We are lucky indeed to be at the right place at the right time Shay... Cara's point is a good one... She'll be happy to know that so far the planning is doing a very good job keeping up. But I'm with her, I hope they are ready for the rapid growth!
