Buyers, now may be the time to look into buying a Homepath property! Homepath is a division of Fannie Mae and they are currently offering to pay up to 3.5% of the buyers closing costs of the purchase of one of their forclosed homes.

Christi, there are so many different programs for buyers, it's hard to keep up with sometime and of course at the rate those programs are add or phased out.

Christi - I have mixed feelings about this program; it is not the best program for many types of borrowers because of the high cost of these loans. Furthermore, so many of the HP properties here in Los Angeles & Ventura counties are so completely run down; not the best type of property for many types of borrowers either. Hopefully, the properties in your market are in much better condition.

The one type of property that these loans are good for though are for condo complexes where it's not possible to get a full HOA cert because the HOA is in trouble.
