I met with a super nice customer today. He just moved to Hastings-on-Hudson NY about a week and a half ago. Unfotunately he has some deep gouges in his new bamboo flooring - appears to be when they moved the appliances in.
Anyway, somehow, he found me on Twitter (odd since he's not one of my followers), and someone (no idea who) said something nice abt me so he checked out my profile (since he and his wife are trying to get to know others in Westchester County. Then, somehow, he landed on my Active Rain blog...most likely from one of the tweets that I scheduled on one of my blog posts.
He emailed me at 9pm on Wednesday, and I happened to be online and responded right back. He was just asking for some advice. He responded with,
:That's probably the quickest, most professional and kindest email I've ever received. I'll call you tomorrow"
From there, I asked him q's and he sent me a picture. I advised him (since it was new and prefinished and bamboo), the he was much better off replacing a few boards rather than refinishing. I recommended he talk to the developer and try to get the matching wood and to call me if he had any issues.
Of course, the developer couldn't help him since a) he didn't flag the issues during the walk through and b) the developer did not have a good flooring person..and had received some complaints from the guys he used to use.
So, I met this super sweet customer today, and we will take care of this small repair job for him (as soon as he can match up the hardwood (since it's not a well known brand name...otherwise, I would get it for him). He feels badly that it's only a small repair job and that he can't give me a large job. I don't care...because he is a super nice customer. And, maybe down the road, he'll have friends he can recommend me to. You never know. And, you never know where someone's web search or click stream will lead.
