Can People Pick You Out Of A Police Lineup??

By
Real Estate Agent with Keller Williams Realty 0575737

Police PosterIt is interesting in the world of the accused. The top CEO's and bankers that get caught with their hand in the cookie jar or their pants down the prosecutors like to make them do the "perp walk" after being accused on the way to the holding cell. Celebrities with their shenanigans end up down at the city jail getting lined up against the wall for a booking police shot. But what about a lineup?

Can People Pick You Out Of A Police Lineup?

Now you may be asking Gary, these are real estate industry "professionals". I don't think they belong in lineups. What is going on here? Charges for fraud or stealing money from the Broker? Surely THIS is not the place to be in life or in your career.

I am talking about client follow-up after the transaction has closed. Weeks, months, years. Do NOT be a secret agent. Who was that gal or guy we worked with? They did terrific but I forget their name or face. Constant contact by email or postal newsletter or phone calls or face to face is the way to maintain your sphere, and get referrals.

BE THE ONE OUT THERE THAT THEY CAN ALWAYS IDENTIFY IN THE POLICE LINEUP.

No questions, YOU ARE THE ONE. This is a good thing !!!

Hi Gary - Good point. Once we get a client, we hang onto them like bulldogs - we have found many ways to unobtrusively maintain a presence in their minds as the real estate experts they already know. It works.

Gary - not only is it a great way to show that we care, they will become a client for life. I still talk to and meet my Realtor for lunch every couple of months and now even do staging jobs with her! She's turned out to be a great friend! Great and important message....as always!

Right on the MONEY!  I want everyone to know who I am (even without a decal on my car!).  I want them to know they can talk to me about the market, etc.  Thanks.

Well I hope they can spot me in a crowd on the day after Thanksgiving at the mall, but I prefer to never see the inside of a police station. LOL  Point well taken Gary.

Hi Gary, It's great to be remembered, and "Picked Out of a Line Up" as you put it. Keeping in contact with those past clients is vital to getting those referrals over and over again.

You should see how I run around when I'm "off duty" as a short sale agent. No make-up, bed hair, clothing with holes in them, I hope nobody recognizes me. But if they do, so what. At least they'll never pick me out of a police lineup. Which reminds me, I do need to update my mailing list and send out mid-year postcards at least.

Great reminder Gary. I have been on both sides of this. Locking onto ahdn chasing a client for 4 years finally paid off. During that time I took my eye off other clients and staying in front of them and lost some opportunities.

We constantly have to follow up and maintain our sphere.
