The city of South Pasadena is sometimes known as "Tree City". Here tree-lined streets with character homes stand in for commercials, television shows, movies and print media for Anywhere, America. Homes in the Altos de Monterey or Old Altos areas often offer spectacular views and a more contemporary flair. Along Mission Street you will find unique shopping and dining as well as Mission Station for the Gold Line Light Rail system. Condominiums and townhomes blend seamlessly throughout the city which features it owns Police and Fire departments, a well-regarded recreation program, unique shopping and dining, excellent public library and the award winning South Pasadena school district.

There were five sales closed in June 2011 ranging in price from $275,000 to $625,000 with a median price of $485,000.

In June 2010, there were six sales closed in June 2010.  The sales ranged in price from $420,000 to $699,000 with a median price of $605,000.

For the first half of 2011, there have been 33 closed sales according to our local multiple listing service.  These sales range in price from $275,000 to $625,000 with a median price of $378,000. Ten of these closed sales have occurred at the Station Lofts on El Centro near the Mission Gold Line Station -- this is the newly constructed loft project that is bank owned.  Another four units have closed at the Mission Commons newly constructed mixed use(live-work)project at Fremont and Mission.

In the January through June 2010 period there were 22 sales and they ranged in price from $280,000 to $905,000 with a median price of $587,500.   The higher median sales price is due to activity at the higher end at Mission Meridian Village and the San Pasqual complex.  

Currently there are 29 units for sale in South Pasadena.  They range in price from $298,000(a unit at the Ostrich Farm Lofts) to $648,000(a newer four bedroom unit on Fremont).   A total of 13 units are in escrow. Two of these are in the Station Lofts and two are in Mission Commons.

Hi Belinda - the news reports today have stated that public transit ridership is up due to the 405 freeway closure this weekend.   I hope everyone remembers how nice/convenient it is to give up their car.
