Wednesday BookwormI was tagged in a book meme by Julie Neerings.  Here's Julie's post.  This makes a perfect addition to my Wednesday Bookworm posts, so here goes.

My Five Favorite Books

Well, I'll say these are more personal favorites.  I have tons of business favorites, too.

Simple AbundanceSimple Abundance: A Day Book of Comfort and Joy
by Sarah Ban Breathnach

This book teaches how to create a life of meaning and abundance through simplicity and gratitude.  If I see the cover of this book, I immediately want to grab a cup of hot chocolate or coffee and curl up for a few hours.  It just makes me want to slow down and take things easy.  It's really about paring down and learning to appreciate the simple things in life and learning to know oneself.

The Velveteen PrinciplesThe Velveteen Principles: A Guide to Becoming Real
by Toni Raiten-D'Antonio

This one is about learning to be real and true.  It's a very inspirational book and a quick and easy read.

Help YourselfHelp Yourself: Finding Hope, Courage, and Happiness
by Dave Pelzer

An inspirational book, it makes me believe anything is possible.

Alice in WonderlandAlice in Wonderland
by Lewis Carroll

A classic, who doesn't love this book?!

Brer Rabbit and the Tar BabyBrer Rabbit and the Tar Baby
by Joel Chandler Harris and
presented by Walt Disney

I just love this book.  It's so light-hearted and fun.

"Well, the grasshoppers jump, so do the fleas.  I'll do what I like, and I'll suits me."

I loved hearing this story on the record player when I was little (yes, a record), and anytime I think of the songs, they always put me in a good mood.

Uncle Remus: "The weather's good, the fishin's fine.  Now what do you do with all your time?"
Brer Rabbit: "Oh, I zigs and I zags, I to's and I fro's.  That's what you're askin' and that's what you knows."

Zip-a-dee-doo-dah is fun, too.

Any good non-fiction inspirational type reccomendations.

Hey Ralph,

The first three are non-fiction, all inspirational reads.  I posted last Wednesday about Denzel Washington's book, A Hand to Guide Me, and that one is really good.  Wayne Dyer's books, The Power of Intention and Being in Balance, are good.  I have two "new" ones to read by him.  I'll try to remember to post about them when I finish reading them.  I also like Debbie Ford's, The Best Year of Your Life.

I will have to get, The Velveteen Principles and Simple Abundance.  They sound fantastic.  Of course, Alice in Wonderland and Brer Rabbit are two of the greats.  Good choices!!

The Velveteen Principles and Simple Abundance are great, Virginia.  I think you'll like them.  Simple Abundance is written one day at a time (if that makes sense), hence the name "A Daily Book..." (duh).  It's a great one to start and the beginning of the year, and it's easy to read a little each day.

Amber-you have quite the list here.  I love that you have so many inspirational books.  The positive brings gratitude in our lives and when we surround ourselves with that, little things don't seem to matter much.  You radiate with sunshine.

Thank you for taking part in the tag for the MeMe.

Thanks, Julie!  That was a very sweet compliment.  I'm glad you liked the books and hope you can find the time to read some of them.  Thanks for inviting me to the meme!
