Las Vegas - and Yes, I lost my Money but I've got these

FND Real Estate Photography & Virtual Tour

FND Real Estate Photography & Virtual TourWell, I was in Las Vegas this past weekend and I thought
I may be able to win the Jackpot this time, but just like
the rest of the people, I donated my money to the hotels
(well, I see it as a investment).  So I'm expecting better
hotel ammenities when I go back since I've given my
money back to them, once again  :)

But, overall it was not a total loss.  I've got some pictures
and I am really happy with what I got  :)

My favorite ones are from the Venetian, but I was able
to score some nice pictures and few hundred dollars from
Paris.  I won at Paris but I gave it all back to Venetian  :)

I like this one a little more than the rest,
but this one (below) is my runner up  :)

Met, nice photos. I have heard that the Venetian is beautiful, but it is one of the few hotels that I have not been to in Vegas. You weren't strolling around Vegas with a camera, tripod and drink in hand at the same time were you?

:)  OMG, Ryan, I barely click on the submit button for the blog and I already have a comment  :)

To answer your question, NO I didn't...  I had the camera, tripod and my bag with me, but i had to stop at the casinos for the drinks  :)

I had few looks but it is not that strange to walk around with the equipment in Vegas  :)  Or everyone else was too drunk to care  :)

like the second one - nice!

On these pictures, I used 28mm...  I had my 28-300mm, but before and after these I used my 10-22mm, which was much better for this area...

I wanted to get some details with the 300mm, but they weren't as good as these ones.  In fact, I used the 300mm to get soem texture and detail so that I can use them for backgrounds and other graphic design related needs  :)

Las Vegas is such a fun place.  I love the shows!  They are expensive but worth it!

Great shots! My wife and I got married at the Venetian this summer. There's nothing like Vegas. Best of luck to you!

Barbara,

I've been going to Las Vegas once or twice a year since 1998 and I have never seen a show  :)  except this time we went to the Comdey Club in Riviera, but I generally spend 20+ hours a day gambling  :)

I love that place, when I start losing, I move to the bar, and wait until my luck changes, then back to the tables and the slot machines  :)

I should be hitting the jackpot one of these days, but meanwhile, I help Wynn to build his new hotel with the money I leave behind  :)

Hi Mehmet,  The Venetian actually reminds me of some places is saw while I was in Spain this summer.  Thanks for sharing.

DANIEL: That is so cool... I bet it was a blast...

LESLIE: I know that everyone associates that type of structure with Italy, but it is pretty common along the Mediterrenian culture.

Nice shots Mehmet.  I like them both.

Question on the 10-22mm.  I find that if I am not very careful I get distortion when I use that lens.  Have you had the same experience, or am I just careless?  When I took a class on http://www.BetterPhoto.com the instructor didn't like the lens too much.  (His tastes rant into the $ 1500 + price range lenses.)  However, I think it is great for listing shots.

10/22/2007 07:15 PM by Mike West (Avalar Real Estate & Mortgage Network)

Mike,

you will get distortion once you get closer to the 10mm.  It is almost impossible to avoid it, however you can use the DCE Tools to correct the distortion.  My dear friend Dawn Shaffer, told me about the DCE tools...

Instructors will always tell you to get the lenses that are in the thousands, but they are pros  :)  If you can afford those lenses, by all means go for it...  It's a matter of justification  :)

I wouldn't be using the 10-22mm for model shoots but for real estate they are great...

Hi Janice..

thank you for your kinds words.. I love these pictures too for two reasons  :)

1- the color and 2- the shapes  (I love things being parallel or perpendicular to each other in pictures :)
